In the Unani and Greco-Arabic systems of medicine, its name literally translates to "The Stone of Wounds" (Sang = Stone, Jarahat = Wounds), highlighting its ancient reputation as a powerful healing agent. It is classified as having a "Cold and Dry" (Barid-o-Yabis) temperament. This soft, slippery mineral is revered for its extraordinary astringent and styptic properties, making it a cornerstone for treating internal and external bleeding.
