Hab-e-Sira (Hab Sira) is a time-tested classical Unani preparation manufactured by Dawakhana Hakim Ajmal Khan. It is specifically indicated for the management of Epilepsy (Sira) and Hysteria. In Unani medicine, epilepsy is often viewed as a condition where morbid humors or vapors affect the brain's functional capacity.
This formulation focuses on Neem (Melia Azadirachta) and Katha (Acacia Catechu). While Neem is traditionally known as a blood purifier, it also possesses significant neuroprotective and anti-seizure properties in traditional medicine, helping to clear the morbid humors that trigger seizures. Katha acts as a nervine astringent that helps in drying up the excess moisture in the cerebral tissues, thereby strengthening the brain and preventing the recurrence of fits.
