Abhal, botanically known as Juniperus communis and globally recognized as Juniper Berries, is the female seed cone produced by various species of junipers. Despite their name, they are not true berries but specialized cones with fleshy scales. Native to the mountainous regions of the Northern Hemisphere, including the Himalayas, Abhal has been a vital component of Greco-Arabic (Unani) medicine for centuries. Classified as having a "Hot and Dry" (Garm-o-Khushk) temperament, it is celebrated for its potent warming properties and its ability to act as a powerful Mudir (Emmenagogue) and Munaffis (Expectorant).
