About the Product
Tumma, botanically designated as Citrullus colocynthis and known classically in Greco-Arabic medicine as Hanzal or Shahm-e-Hanzal (Colocynth Pulp), is the dried fruit pulp harvested from a wild, trailing desert vine of the Cucurbitaceae family. In Unani medicine, Tumma holds an authoritative rank among the most powerful drastic purgatives (Mushal-e-Qawi) and is classified as having a Hot and Dry (Garm-o-Khushk, 3rd to 4th degree) temperament. Renowned for its intense, penetrating bitterness and profound resolving (Muhallil) virtues, it is celebrated as the ultimate heroic botanical for evacuating thick, stubborn phlegmatic (Balgham-e-Ghaleez) and black bile (Sauda) humors from deep tissues, opening stubborn visceral blockages, and relieving chronic inflammatory conditions of the liver, spleen, and joints.
