Laooq Sapistan is a celebrated classical Unani preparation manufactured by Dawakhana Hakim Ajmal Khan, specifically formulated to address chronic and acute respiratory ailments. In Unani terminology, a "Laooq" is a semi-solid, lickable medicinal paste (linctus) designed to stay in contact with the throat for a soothing, long-lasting effect.
This formulation is named after its chief ingredient, Sapistan (Cordia Dichotoma), renowned for its extraordinary mucilaginous properties. It acts as a powerful Munaffis-e-Balgham (Expectorant), helping to thin thick, stubborn phlegm for easy expulsion. Enriched with Liquorice, Unnab, and Khashkhash, Laooq Sapistan provides rapid relief from persistent coughs, sore throats, and chest congestion while calming the respiratory system.
