Kachoor, botanically known as Curcuma zedoaria and globally recognized as White Turmeric or Zedoary, is a perennial herb belonging to the ginger family. While closely related to common yellow turmeric, Kachoor is distinguished by its lighter flesh and a unique, camphorous aroma. In Unani and Greco-Arabic medicine, it is classified as having a "Hot and Dry" (Garm-o-Khushk) temperament. It is celebrated as a powerful Muhallil (Resolvent) and Musaffi (Purifier), used for centuries to dissolve internal swellings, purify the blood, and revitalize the digestive system.
