Laooq Katan

Laooq Katan is a time-tested classical Unani elective preparation manufactured by Dawakhana Hakim Ajmal Khan. The word "Laooq" refers to a semi-solid linctus designed to be licked slowly, while "Katan" is the Arabic/Persian name for Flaxseed (Alsi).

This formulation is specifically engineered to treat respiratory conditions caused by thick, stubborn, and "cold" phlegmatic humors. By utilizing the natural mucilaginous and expectorant properties of Flaxseeds combined with the warming and cleansing nature of Jaggery (Gur), Laooq Katan acts as a powerful Munaffis-e-Balgham (Expectorant). It effectively thins viscid mucus, making it easier to expel, thereby providing relief from chronic cough, asthma, and pleurisy.
